Railway crossing with AI-based anti-collision system identifying a train, person, car, and traffic lights
Rail transport anti-collision system

Anti-Collision System

  • Prevents accidents of public transit vehicles by AI video analysis of the vehicle’s surroundings.
  • Neural networks segment the environment and recognize objects near the vehicle to assess the accident risk.
  • Detects both moving and stationary elements, such as pedestrians, vehicles, animals, and obstacles on tracks.
  • Alerts drivers on possible accidents and initiates automatic braking in high-risk scenarios.
  • Enables automation in collision avoidance when combined with the CAB Radio VS87’s remote STOP feature.

Basic description

LPP’s Anti-Collision System improves operational safety for trams, trains, and other rail vehicles. It continuously monitors the surrounding environment and performs real-time risk assessments to help prevent accidents.

The system uses AI-driven segmentation and object detection to identify moving hazards such as people, vehicles, or animals, as well as stationary obstacles on the track. It alerts drivers to potential threats and, in high-risk situations, can automatically trigger emergency braking.

When integrated with the CAB Radio VS87’s remote STOP functionality, the system increases the automation level of collision avoidance for safer railway operation.
