Stores Management System SMS

  • Enables advanced stores carriage, release, launch, and integration with a Targeting Sensor System.
  • Functions as a standalone system or within the Mission Computer, controlled via EFIS or LPP WX-80.
  • EO/IR integration, pylon configuration, fault detection, and mission data management.
  • Calculates steering cues, weapon constraints, ballistics, and synchronises optical navigation for guided weapon releases.
  • Compliant with MIL-STD-1760, MIL-STD-1553, and ARINC 664.

Basic description

Stores Management System (SMS) provides precise control over weapon carriage, release, and launch. It also incorporates data from targeting sensors to support accurate deployment. SMS operates as a stand-alone system or as part of the Mission Computer architecture. Commands can be entered through the Electronic Flight Instrument System (EFIS) or via a dedicated display, such as the LPP WX-80, ensuring efficient weapon management.

SMS supports mixed weapon loads, including unguided and laser-guided munitions. It configures pylons, monitors weapon status, and detects faults in real time. Integrated EO/IR capabilities enhance targeting accuracy by synchronising optical navigation, calculating ballistics, and providing azimuth and elevation constraints for weapon delivery. The system is compliant with MIL-STD-1760 and MIL-STD-1553 standards.

LPP also developed Cloud Seeding System WX-80 based on SMS technology.
