Autonomous UGV navigating uneven terrain during outdoor field testing
Autonomous UGV drone for logistics missions in unknown terrain

Autonomous UGV HORNET

  • Lightweight ground vehicle designed for logistics missions, adaptable for combat, ISR, medical, and CBRN operations.
  • Its autonomous control system supports navigation and decision-making in unknown terrain, with optimised route calculation and obstacle avoidance.
  • HORNET’s control system uses LiDAR, an Inertial Measurement Unit, and environmental segmentation for navigation in unknown terrain.
  • The system combines sensor data to navigate preset waypoints without needing pre-mapped environments.
  • Equipped with an inertial navigation system, HORNET operates effectively even in GNSS-denied areas.

Basic description

The HORNET UGV is a lightweight, autonomous ground vehicle designed primarily for logistical missions. It is also versatile enough to support combat, ISR, medical, and CBRN operations — or to be modified into an Anti-drone UGV system. Its advanced autonomous control system enables automated navigation and decision-making, even in unfamiliar terrain. This ensures optimal route calculation and effective obstacle avoidance.

The HORNET’s navigation is powered by LiDAR, an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), terrain segmentation, and object recognition. Its autonomous system fuses data from all these sensors, allowing the vehicle to reach preset waypoints without prior environmental mapping. For operation in GNSS-denied environments, the HORNET integrates with an inertial navigation system to maintain reliable performance in challenging conditions.

The UGV also supports integration with the Multispectral Imaging Systems, enhancing its capabilities for surveillance missions.
